Architect and Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Art and Design at the University of Minho (EAAD) and researcher at the Landscapes, Heritage and Territory Laboratory (Lab2PT), he was Vice President and President of the EAAD Pedagogical Council. Graduated in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, has a Master's degree in Architecture, Territory and Memory from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra and a PhD in Architecture from EAAD. Since 2004 he has been teaching Project and Public Space Seminar courses. He has supervised approximately 40 master's dissertations on the themes of extensively urbanized territory, public space design and the transformation of the 'Portuguese Atlantic façade'.
At Lab2PT, develop research on territory issues and participate in the digital platform https://onbeingwithit.lab2pt.net/pt. In 2017, he was a member of the research project NoVoid: Ruins and Vacant Land in Portuguese Cities, funded by FCT. In 2019, he joined the team of the A&BM research project, The Sea and the Coast, Architecture and Marine Biology: The Impact of Sea Life on the Built Environment, funded by FCT. In 2020, with Daniel Casas Valle, founded the platform https://thefuturedesignofstreets.eu/.As a board member of the UM-Cidades platform promote exemplary practices in the city and territory, contributing to the construction of a more sustainable and fair society. Since September 2023, is member of GREEN GAP team, which aims to promote green infrastructure and restore biodiversity.
