As part of the course unit “Seminar” of the Degree in Product Design, it will be held tomorrow, February 22nd, at 10:00 am at IDEGUI, a class with Sílvia Barros de Held, on the theme "Some creative processes for the development of design surface".
Maria Sílvia Barros de Held, is Associate professor since 2019.
Graduated in Arts and in Advertising from the Pontifical Catholic University of
Campinas, Master's and Doctorate in Arts from the School of Communications and
Arts of the University of São Paulo.
She was a professor at the Pontifical
Catholic University of Campinas in the Visual Arts and Publicity-Propaganda
courses. She was Co-founder and Coordinator of Lato-Sensu Arte: Ensino e
Produção, where she also taught the course Three-Dimensional Aspects of Plastic
Expression. She founded and coordinated the Research Group A Imagem: Arte e
Design, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, with Research Lines,
among them: Contemporary Aspects of Image: Theory and Practice, where she
developed her research projects and supervised several Initiation students
Scientific, some volunteers, others with FAPIC and PIBIC grants. She has
experience in the field of Arts, Design and Advertising, and works mainly in
the following subjects: art, design, community, sociology of art, fashion, art
education, interdisciplinarity and production.
She is currently a Professor at the
University of São Paulo, at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities
(EACH-USP) in the Textile and Fashion Course, where she is also
Vice-Coordinator. She works in the field of Design and Fashion and is a member
of ICOM - International Council of Museums / UNESCO, since 2000. She is also a
visiting professor at the University of Lisbon (Portugal), at the Polytechnic
Institute of Castelo Branco (Portugal) and a researcher at the Research Center
in Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD) from the University of Lisbon
(Portugal), where he did his Post-Doctorate.
