The
School of Architecture, Art and Design at the University of Minho will host the
workshop Hybrid Tectonic Systems, dedicated to the development of hybrid
tectonic systems integrating timber and large-scale 3D concrete printing
The workshop adopts a design-build approach focused on material
and constructive experimentation. Over five days, participants will explore the
articulation between structural, formal and assembly logics, investigating the
integration of timber elements with components produced through 3D printing of
cement-based mortars.
The workshop is organized between the @EAAD – School of Architecture,
Art and Design, @Lab2PT – Landscapes, Heritage and Territory Laboratory, @
ACTech Hub – Architecture, Construction and Technology Hub, @laurentianu –
Laurentian University, McEwen School of Architecture, and the Institute for
Northern Housing Innovation.
