On Thursday, February 19, at 12:00 p.m., in Auditorium 2 of EAAD, there will be an open lecture entitled “Hoousing Futures” given by Steven Beites.
Steven Beites is a
Professor at Laurentian University, McEwen School of Architecture, and Director
of the Institute for Northern Housing Innovation. He holds degrees from the
University of Toronto and the University of Michigan, and is currently a PhD
candidate at the European Graduate School. His research operates at the
intersection of technology, sustainability, and social responsibility, focusing
on advanced design and fabrication, with particular emphasis on the use of
locally sourced, nature-based materials. Through this work, he seeks to
transform the affordable housing landscape in Northern Ontario by contributing
to the decarbonization of the built environment and promoting more efficient
and accessible housing models.
