EAAD - Campus de Azurém
The 2024/2025 edition of Plan A of the Doctorate in Architecture will begin in February 2025. Its Opening Lecture will take place on 14 February at the Nuno Portas Library in the EAAD Building on the Azurém Campus in Guimarães.
The welcoming session for the new students will be attended by the President of EAAD, Professor Paulo Cruz, the Course Director, Professor João Rosmaninho, and the team of teachers and researchers, with intense pedagogical and scientific activity in the School's three areas of specialisation in Architecture, who will be teaching the different UCs, as well as a representative of UMinho's Doctoral College.
Plan A of the Doctorate in Architecture has a duration of 6 semesters, the first two of which, corresponding to the teaching component of the cycle, will work around five curricular units. In the first semester, disciplinary research methods will be deepened alongside inter- and transdisciplinary content. In the second semester, the thesis plan will be developed alongside two options in different speciality areas (namely: City and Territory; Construction and Technology; Architectural Culture). The following two academic years will be spent working on the thesis under tutorial guidance.
