From May 29
to 31, the HOUSING, Guimarães 2025 symposium will take place at the Vila Flor
Cultural Center in Guimarães. The symposium is promoted by ideal spaces,
Guimarães City Council, the School of Architecture, Art and Design at the
University of Minho and ZEGNEA.
With the
aim of understanding, analyzing and developing principles and seeking solutions
for Housing, the symposium, which takes place over three days, will start on
May 29 with knowledge and understanding of the city, 'RE-COGNIZING'...the CITY,
as a 'living organism', its social adaptability, cultural plurality, its public
policies and its 'human condition' that makes it diverse and inclusive. On May
30, it's important to 'RE-INTERPRET' HOUSING, according to the social,
cultural, economic and legislative contexts and to understand its suitability
for today's way of life, new family configurations, uses and appropriations of
housing space. The final day will focus on the theme of 'RE-IMAGINING' SPACE
with Architecture as the answer, with the aim of understanding the creative
freedom needed to create new public/private space dynamics, new housing
typologies and new stimuli for relations between Man and the space around him.
