Conditions for admission

UMinho students attending study cycles in non-CTEAM* areas can apply for the UMinho Mais Digital Project Courses. If there are remaining places, students from CTEAM areas may also be admitted, but these students will not be able to take advantage of the Merit Scholarship.

Application: 17th March to  04th Abril

The application is made via the Mais Digital Project form at

Description

The course aims to introduce participants to the use of basic digital design methods and 2-axis subtractive manufacturing processes in an integrated way, to transform digital data into physical objects. The focus will be on the design and development of full-scale prototypes using a variety of materials, with an emphasis on the transition between digital modeling and materialization. Introduce participants to computational thinking applied to subtractive manufacturing.
Understand the basic concepts of subtractive digital manufacturing processes and their applications in different project contexts. Develop skills to autonomously create digital files for the use of CNC and laser cutter (2 axes), applying modeling principles and geometric parameterization. Provide practical experiences with 2-axis cutting equipment, integrating theory and practice to transform digital models into physical objects.
