This course unit may be completed in one of the following two formats
a) Dissertation; b) Project Work.
AdmissionThe Admission application must be sent to the Department Secretariat during the periods specified by the Course Director. The application must include the corresponding Form and the Work Plan.

SubmissionThe request for public defense must be submitted online via the
Electronic Desk. The process must be supported by the following documents:
a) One (1) printed copy of the Dissertation/Project Work;
b) One (1) digital copy of the Dissertation/Project Work; (this copy may be spiral-bound and will be delivered to the External Examiner of the Jury pannel);
c) One (1) digital copy of the Curriculum Vitae;
d) The supervisory team’s formal opinion/report in digital format (
MIARQ doc.A);
e) A signed declaration regarding the deposit of the Dissertation in the RepositóriUM of the UMinho (
Appendix 5A);
f) Where applicable, a statement from the supervisory team regarding any excess word/character count (

Important Notice: The submission of one (1) printed copy* of the dissertation or project work, prior to the public defense, must take place by the dates specified by the Course Direction at the respective Secretariat.
* It is imperative that the printed document corresponds exactly to the digital version previously submitted via the academic portal. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the annulment of the entire submission process. This version may be spiral-bound.
After the Public DefenseFollowing the approval of the Master's defense, and within a maximum period of 10 days, the student must submit the following documents to the Secretariat by email (miarq@eaad.uminho.pt):
a) One digital copy of the corrected Dissertation/Project Work;
b) One printed copy of the corrected Dissertation/Project Work*;
c) One printed copy of the corrected Dissertation/Project Work*; (
Appendix 5B);
d) A statement issued by the supervisor(s) confirming that the requested corrections have been made (
MIARQ doc.B).
e) The final submission request (
Form).
